Mount Morris 2 team captures league title

MARCH 5, 2026 -- The Mount Morris 2 team defeated Le Roy Legion Lanes, 22-18, on Sunday, March 1 to clinch the Genesee Region Youth Travel League championship.

Members of the first-place team are Giovanna Leone, Jonas Palma and Eliel DeJesus.

DeJesus led the way with a 497 series, including a 200 game, while Liam Beagle paced second-place Le Roy with a 463 series, including a 203 game.

In other matches:

Third-place Perry 1 downed Mancuso Bowling Center, 32-8, behind Gavin Slocum's 608 series, including a 247 first game.

Fourth-place Mount Morris 1 defeated Rose Garden Bowl, 24-16, and Perry 2 topped Oak Orchard Bowl, 24-16. Shyann Covell posted a 202 game and 543 series for Perry 2 while Omer Fugate fired a 219 game and 601 series for Oak Orchard.

The league's no-tap tournament/banquet is scheduled for March 15 at Mancuso Bowling Center in Batavia.
